Our History

BPH was founded in 1989 as New England’s first LGBTQ+ hockey club with a small group of players who wanted to play in the Vancouver Gay Games.

Over the next three decades, BPH has created an inclusive community that provides a safe and welcoming environment for players to learn, enjoy, and compete across a range of programs—including a first-of-its-kind league, weekly pick-up games, skills sessions, and tournaments around the globe.

Today, BPH’s 250—and counting—active members continue the legacy of those who came before us.
