BPH is always seeking dedicated volunteers to help our organization thrive. While chair positions are reserved for board members, any BPH member can serve as a commissioner. Tournament & Friendship Series Chair
Responsible for planning, coordinating, forecasting, and budgeting for BPH tournament participation. Also responsible for organizing annual home and away friendship series. Other responsibilities are finding housing, team building, travel arrangements, and communications. This role must be held by a board member.
Social Events & Community Service Chair
Responsible for coordinating events that benefit both the BPH membership and the broader community, including the annual holiday party, Pride celebrations, volunteer appreciation events, and any other ideas the chair can think of. This role also includes developing and proposing an annual budget and goals.
Fundraising Chair
Responsible for coordinating and empowering pickup captains to lead skates and create balanced teams, ensuring all players have a fun and welcoming BPH experience. This role also involves preparing the budget for pickup sessions, and exploring new on-ice opportunities and locations. This chair must make sure new players feel welcomed, and maintain a friendly, fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all players. Also must be friendly and engaging, getting to know members and their skill levels. This role must be held by a board member.
Responsible for seeking out fundraising opportunities and sponsors, integrating fundraising components into on- and off-ice events, and preparing budgets for all related activities. Also tasked with establishing fundraising goals across the organization. This role must be held by a board member.
Pick-up Chair
Skills Commissioner
Responsible for working with leadership to secure ice time and schedule skates, as well as planning practices, drills, and lessons. This role involves elevating BPH members as coaches to assist in skill development, being a resource for novice players, and finding ways to improve all members' enjoyment of the game. Additionally, the Skills Commissioner works closely with leadership to budget for any necessary expenses or gear.
